A Memorable Trip to Pokhara

A Memorable Trip to Pokhara

Since my childhood I had heard a lot that Pokhara is a really beautiful place I wanted to visit it after hearing that. My friends used to talk about that place which made me more curious to visit there. Finally after a long time my family decided to go there on vacation. I was really happy. I was in grade 4 that time and it was my first time to go out of Kathmandu valley.

The distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara is about 204 km. We went there by plane. It took about 30 min to reach there from Kathmandu. We enjoyed the scenery of mountains by plane. We stayed in hotel Jal Mahal, Pokhara. The hotel is just 500 m away from the airport. One of my relatives was also with us who lead us just like a guide as be had visited Pokhara many times. The next day we visited places of Pokhara after lunch.

Pokhara is really beautiful as I have heard. It is famous for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful surrounding countryside. It lies on the shores of the Phewa lake. In the middle of Phewa lake there is a temple named Tal barahi temple. We can go to the temple by boat. Not only these places but Pokhara has lots of other places too to visit such as Bindhyabasini temple, Bhadrakali, Sitaldevi, Gita mandir, Peace stupa, Davis fall, Gupteshwor cave, etc. Pokhara has lots of other caves too for tourist sites. As the base for trekkers who make the popular Annapurna Circuit, Pokhara offers many sightseeing opportunities. We can also enjoy bungee jumping, paragliding, zip flyer, ultralight flight, trekking, hand gliding, etc. Because of these sports Pokhara is also known as city of adventures.

Pokhara is not just a mountainous place but also rich in natural vegetation. Evergreen coniferous forest, monsoon forest, etc. are found here. Sal, Pipal, Simal, Neem, etc. are also found here. Lots of fauna live here such as leopard, panther, golden jackal, crab-eating mongoose, etc. Many tourist also come here in order to research. This place has humid subtropical climate; however the elevation keeps temperature moderate. As because Pokhara is very rich in natural resources and it is very beautiful, it is also known as heaven of Nepal. Nepalese people say it is in the heart of Nepal.

Every tourist is welcomed. Just by visiting these places and having adventures a d fun the vacation was completed. It was the time to return home back after 10 days. Every moment was captured in mobile and cameras. We had   been there by flight but while returning I decided to go by bus. The returning journey by bus was also nice though it was long. The time taken by bus while returning was about 6-8 hours. The trip was so wonderful for me that I can never forget about it. It is one of the memorable trips for me of my life.
